Newcastle United - Revenue Split
The graphs show how the different parts of the clubs income have grown over the last 8 years. For each section there is a column representing the money per season, there is also a line showing by % how important each section is to the business.
The gate receipts rose to just over £35m in 2005 before dropping to there lowest level since 2002 last season.
The television money seems to have settled in the £25m-£30m range. The TV money, which comes from SKY and from what ever deals are negotiated for European games has increased significantly since 1998. NUFC were in the Champions League in 2003 and this was has been the only season where TV money was higher than gate receipts. The high figures in 2003 and 2004 show the importance of European games.
The "commercial" figure, which was split in to sponsorship, merchandise and catering up to 2005, is steadily rising. The average spend on merchandising in the club shops seems to be about £8m per year. Again this all comes from fans.
